The newer datafile.Locate the 'tzdb.dat.' file in thesame JAVAHOME/jre/lib directory. This is the replaced, older datafile.Obtain the currently installed timezone data version from thefollowing command:java -jar tzupdater.jar -VRename the current 'tzdb.dat' fileto something like 'tzdb.dat.', or whateverversion was given by the command in step 3. Ensure this name doesnot conflict with the older data files.Rename the older data file to 'tzdb.dat'.Validate the change in currently active timezone data byexecuting the following:java -jar tzupdater.jar -VRestart applications on this JDK/JRE instance asdesired.For JDK 7 and earlier family versions:Locate the 'zi' directory underthe modified JAVAHOME/jre/lib directory. This is the newer datafile.Locate a 'zi.tzdata*' directory inthe same JAVAHOME/jre/lib directory. This is the replaced, olderdata.Obtain the currently installed timezone data version from thefollowing command:java -jar tzupdater.jar -VRename the current 'zi' directoryto something like 'zi.tzdata2016b',or whatever version was given by the command in step 3.
