I strongly disagree about the advantages of using that high sample rates. The latency does not follow the sample rate directly. Many forumites work with 44,1 Khz or 48 Khz with a latency clearly below 5 ms, which is more than short enough, and most have a latency below 10 ms which is OK. Very high sample rates cause other problems in the form of gigantic project sizes and HDDs having difficulties to read and write fast enough. In every single thread about the sample rate on these forums the consensus has been that anything over 48 Khz usually is just waste of HDD space.
