Sites visited

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. I accidentally removed a site from the list of frequently visited sites that appear when you click the address bar and I'd like to get it back. I don't see an option anywhere to reset frequently visited sites or re-enable sites that have been removed. So how do I get Safari to display this frequently visited site again? Fortunately sites can be re-added to this list as detailed below. Add a website to your Top Sites: Move the pointer over the Smart Search field, click and hold the One-Step Add button that appears at the left end of the field, then choose Top Sites from the menu. You can also drag a URL or bookmark to the Top Sites page. View your Top Sites Cheers! Well, since no one seems to know, or care, I did the work myself. I hate when that happens 🙂 In any case, when Safari is set to Private Browsing the sites visited are still logged into the Parental Controls log column. So in an account that is subject to parental controls, Private Browsing is not so private. Which is as it should be. In addition, I found the log to be a very useful tool. 1) You can link to the sites that are logged so you can see where your kids have been 2) For each site visited you can elect to have Parental Controls block it. 3) There is also a log of sites that were blocked. You can visit these also, and unblock them if you wish. 4) The log records the date and times a site is visited. We do not allow our kids on the internet when we (parents) are not home. The log will tell us if they have ignored that 'decree'. All in all, very useful. And just to clear the air, I have chosen not to use Parental Controls as a spying tool. I have explained to my kids how the log and all Parental Controls work so they know that where they go is basically public info. And I've tried to explain that for the most part that anywhere any of us goes on the internet is public info anyway.

Dec 20, 2014 1:00 PM in response to dominic23 That just stops the Favourites from showing in the dropdown menu from the search/address bar.Doesn't stop them appearing below the Favourites already there, as pictured (I have no recents at the minute).When a "Recently Visited" site appears, it gets put beneath the set of Favourites below.The only way to remove it is by dragging it out of that area.
