And original 32 bit plugin must not be in VstPlugins, but in a hidden folder because Cubase x32 (I thing also Reaper) prefers x32 plugin than 64 bits transformed plugin. 12-29-2021, 01:11 AM #10 Human being with feelings Join Date: Sep 2016 Posts: 657 Quote: Originally Posted by ivansc Any particular reason why you are not interested? I am happy with the old plugins I have, they work for me. I treat my PC like a vintage gear I also have, just because it's old it doesn't mean I have to throw it out. I did try to run 64bit setup on other PC but I couldn't see any difference or advantage in performance apart from having to use the bridge which actually slowed things down.So really, not interested at all in 64bit and yes I still run Win 7. From time to time I just update my PC to new hardware and it's all good. Reaper has its own and stable bridge, no need for external plugins. 12-28-2021, 04:30 AM #3 Human being with feelings Join Date: May 2006 Location: Surrey, UK Posts: 19,740 ^^^Indeed, you just need to select the 64-bit bridge option (cannot remember the exact name) in the Reaper 32-bit install. __________________ DarkStar ... interesting, if true. . . . Hello, I use Win7/64-Bit, REAPER v4.402/64-Bit and the LAME MP3 encoder v3.98.3/64-Bit patch. Unfortunately REAPER produced at the MP3 rendering glitches and artifacts. Here's a Sample. I suspect that it is due to the LAME MP3 Encoder v3.98.3/64-Bit-Patch. When I render a wav from REAPER and then convert with foobar2000/32-Bit the WAV to MP3 with the LAME MP3 Encoder v3.99.5/64-Bit, then there are no artifacts. Unfortunately, I can not use the LAME MP3 Encoder dll v3.99.5/64-Bit in REAPER. Does anyone know how I can update the LAME MP3 encoder from v3.98.3/64-Bit to v3.99.5/64-Bit in REAPER? 05-12-2013, 02:02 PM #2 Human being with feelings Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 1,936 good point, I have also noticed that the lame mp3 plugin creates all sorts of irregularities in playback and rendering.i guess the thing to do is render mp3s to wav using other software, and that goes for coverting as well. 05-12-2013, 02:10 PM #3 Human being with feelings Join Date: Oct 2010 Location: Charleston, SC Posts: 13,005 Download that version and put the file (lame_enc64.dll) in the "C:\Program Files\REAPER (x64)" directory replacing or removing any others.Restart Reaper 05-12-2013, 02:52 PM #4 Human being with feelings Join Date: Apr 2011 Location: Germany Posts: 1,213 Quote: good point, I have also noticed that the lame mp3 plugin creates all sorts of irregularities in playback and rendering.i guess the thing to do is render mp3s to wav using other software, and that goes for coverting as well. Yes in my sample are the artifacts very extreme, sometimes it is very subtiel and mostly non-existent. I do not know how that can be. Anyway, now I unfortunately had to convert the mp3 with foobar2000 and LAME MP3 Encoder v3.99.5/64-Bit exe. I just redirected it to my 64-bit plugin folder. I didn't check the install log, but when I load the plugin in Reaper, it appears to be 64-bit (i.e., it doesn't use the 32-bit bridge). I wasn't really looking for a sampler, but now I've installed both Poise and Grace, and might have some fun with them. __________________ Best Regards, Ernie "lunker" LundqvistBDSM (Bad Dog Studio Musicians)Windows 10 running on Z390 + i7-8700 Last edited by lunker; 12-12-2022 at 06:05 PM. 12-13-2022, 12:05 AM #6 Human being with feelings Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: Montreal, Canada Posts: 9,413 Quote: Originally Posted by lunker I agree this looks a little confusing. For me, the installer suggested putting the plugin in "Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST2". I tried Jbridge but that didn't work for me, though I've read couple of mentions that it can be done.Anyone tried? I'm not interested in changing my studio PC to 64bit. 12-28-2021, 04:08 AM #2 Human being with feelings Join Date: Dec 2012 Posts: 13,752 If your system is 32-bit, then you can't use 64-bit plugins. If your system is 64-bit, then you will be able to run them even if your Reaper is 32-bit. Only a lame_enc.dll and these
