Let’s get straight to the point. Can other people upload photos to Flickr? Yes, but there are some restrictions and settings.Flickr has several ways to share photos, with the primary focus being photo hosting and sharing. Flickr allows for collaborative methods such as group projects, events, or family gatherings, but users often upload their own photos. Before others can upload photos to your account, you need to set upload permissions. Whether you’re managing a local group, receiving photos from other photographers, or simply wanting to create a shared album with friends or colleagues, this feature can be useful for you. However, if you don’t change your settings, no one will be able to upload to your account. Flickr’s strict security and privacy measures ensure that your account is always under control. Using groups or inviting specific people via a private link or shared albums is the solution. Now, let’s look at how to set up permissions for other users to upload photos to your Flickr account, and how to control and keep track of these permissions. How to Allow Others to Upload Photos to FlickrBefore we get started, make sure you’re using the right Flickr tools. The two main ways to allow others to upload photos to your Flickr account are: Creating and Managing Groups Setting Up and Sharing AlbumsLet’s take a closer look at each of these options. 2025-04-11But still cannot upload to Flickr with an existing set or a new set, even after authorizing and unauthorizing most everything several times, firewall on or off. Would appreciate any suggestions. Did anyone discover a solution other than waiting for service to work again? ages ago (permalink) ludicrous sort [deleted] says: The only thing I did was to set every reference into the program control settings of my firewall to always allow access to all Elements entries. I don't know if this is this made any difference. It just started working after the weekend was over. I suggest you contact Adobe for support. Originally posted ages ago. Have you tried the flickr uploadr and are you able to upload files to flickr apart from PSE?Have you confirmed in your flickr account that you want to allow sharing from flickr? ages ago (permalink) Arimm says: when i click "share to flickr" the organizer start to "backup the catalogue"and freezes, there's a button "remind me next time" but it does not is work. ages ago (permalink) Lance Rogers says: @Arimm, your issue sounds different and sounds like either an installation problem or some other issue. What version of PSE are you using? I would turn off backup in the preferences and confirm you have a US/Canda version of PSE.@Jim Slaugh, let us know if you are able to upload via flickr. If so, then the issue is setting in PSE. ages ago (permalink) Arimm says: my version is 9, american version, and yes after turn the backup off now i can my pics to flickr.thank you. ages ago (permalink) JimSlaugh says: Never solved the uploading to Flickr problem (but have been traveling and not at the computer with the issues). 2025-04-20The reset process occurred the issue cleared up. I recall reading a solution for removing certain files and letting PSE rebuild if that did not fix it. I'll keep looking, but I'd give it another shot with the older version removed now. ages ago (permalink) SpectroMagic says: Not sure if this question would go here or if I should have stared a new question but here goes...I use PSE9 to upload my photos to Flickr but PSE apparently doesn't know that Flickr accepts video. It skips over them in a large batch upload. If you only select videos to upload, it gives an error message that says Flickr dosen't accept video' then the next box says 'you must select at least one photo for uploading'. Of course we all know Flicrk accepts photos (and has for several years) so how do I convince PSE9 to go ahead and do it directly? ages ago (permalink) giant angle [deleted] says: yes i'm having the problem as well with both 9 an 10. I'm going to assume its them because it worked fine yesterday. ages ago (permalink) rocurti says: I downloaded and installed Flickr Uploadr:www.flickr.com/tools/uploadr/When I right click on an image file, "Send to Flickr" is an option in the context menu. Before the actual upload, I'm able to add a title, description and tags, as well as assign the photo to a set. Works very well for me. ages ago (permalink) mukerjichinmoy says: This is new to me .. I use PSE 9, but did not know till this minute that I could upload to Flickr directly from PSE 9 after processing (I'm assuming that's what is being discussed here) - is there a post where I can read how to upload directly to flickr from PSE 9? I'd appreciate it ... or if someone here can just point out the steps ... ages ago (permalink) Would you like to comment? Sign up for a free account, or sign in (if you're already a member).
