However, the features have their own descriptive names and use cases.The tools available in Firefly are in beta mode or recently implemented into software. In the latter case, they’ll soon be removed from the free web app. Using Firefly’s web app is a rare opportunity to access Adobe tools without the cost of an Adobe subscription.Among the currently available tools in Firefly, you’ll see previous Firefly features along with the software they’re now available in, such as Generative Recolor or Text to Vector, both of which are available in Adobe Illustrator.In February 2025, the Adobe Firefly web app offers image and video generators, as well as other AI tools. They’re free to use by anyone. If you have a Creative Cloud account, you can access your generated results in other Adobe software to edit or add to your creative projects. Your generation history is saved in your Firefly files for access later.The prompt-based generators are more complex than writing a prompt. Adobe provides a prompt suggestions feature to help you craft the perfect text prompt to begin with. While you can use the text prompt and rely on the default settings, using a powerful tool means you may as well benefit from all the custom options.Depending on the generator you use, you might have custom options like aspect ratio, camera angle, and style or image type. Firefly’s initial focus on images and test effects is now available in beta at firefly.adobe.com. The first model of Firefly is trained on Adobe Stock images, openly licensed content, and public domain content, where copyright has expired and is designed to generate images safe for commercial use. During the beta phase, the Firefly-generated assets cannot be used for commercial purposes.We are investing in generative AI to help creators transform the way they imagine and explore possibilities. We are committed to developing generative AI responsibly, with creators at the center. Through efforts like the Content Authenticity Initiative, we’re standing up for accountability, responsibility, and transparency in generative AI. Along with public domain content where copyright has expired. Adobe has recently announced Custom Models, which are ways for creators to be able to train the models with their own assets so they can generate content that matches their unique style, branding, and design language without the influence of other creators’ content. Adobe will continue to listen to and work with the creative community to address future developments to the Firefly training models. Is customer content automatically used to train Firefly? No. We do not train our Firefly generative AI models on any Creative Cloud or Adobe Experience Cloud subscribers’ personal content. Is Firefly integrated into Adobe apps? We’re continually working on bringing Firefly into Creative Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Adobe Document Cloud. Features powered by Firefly can currently be found inside Adobe Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Stock, and firefly.adobe.com. How can my organization try out the Firefly web app? Using your Adobe ID or federated ID, you can access the Firefly web app to experiment with all the different available capabilities. Can customers use the images generated from Firefly commercially? For features without the beta label, you can use outputs generated from Firefly in your commercial projects. For features that are in beta, you can use the outputs generated from Firefly for your commercial projects unless explicitly stated otherwise in the product. As with the use of all Creative Cloud products and services, Firefly outputs cannot be used in an illegal manner (including to infringe or violate the rights of others) or in connection with creating, training, or otherwise improving AI/ML models. Learn more Will Adobe indemnify enterprise customers in the unlikely event of an IP claim involving a Firefly output? Yes, if the organization has purchased the appropriate entitlement (which will require a new contracting event), subject to the applicable terms, conditions, and exclusions. Enterprise customers may purchase an entitlement that comes with contractual IP indemnification for select Firefly outputs through the Adobe Express and Firefly site license, or through certain Creative Cloud for enterprise plans.
