Google Chrome Takes Forever to Open:

There are a few browsers out there that compare to this fox themed program, with Google Chrome just sprinting ahead, claiming the top spot due to its immense popularity. If anyone has any sort of advice on this, I would be very appreciative if you could share it.Mozilla Firefox is adorned with style and substance. I do t think this has anything to do with it, but the first thing I did was install ublock origin. I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to be this slow, but there is very little information on the internet about people using Firefox on Chromebook (because Chromebook’s only use is browsing the internet with Chrome), so I can’t find a good explanation as to why it is so slow, nor any solution. It runs slower than when I had over 50 tabs open across three windows on Chome. It also takes forever to load any new webpage, and it took a solid 3 minutes just to launch the browser. Other actions, such as scrolling, are similarly slow. I tried to play a Youtube video to test how it would work, and it ran at 5 fps at best. The bigger problem I have is that it is absurdly slow, to the point of unusabilty. I used this guide to try and make it smaller, but it’s still nearly twice as thick as what I’m used to, and still with an entire bar of dead space above my tabs. Like, three times as thick as what I’m used to. The lesser problem was that the toolbar was way too big. I decided to test it out a bit, and found two problems with it, a lesser one and a greater one. There was something I was a bit worried about, that being that my computer was a Chromebook, but I found a nice tutorial on how to install it. I’m not sure if this is the place to ask, but I’m not sure where I’d go.īasically, because I’ve heard Chrome is getting rid of Adblock support, I decided I should probably switch to Firefox.. Learn how to fix the Chrome browser if it takes ages to open in Windows. If Chrome takes forever to load first Edge Chromium is much slower than Chrome for things like google drive / google docs:- when I want to open the folder in the navigation pane (cf the left part), it takes between 20 and 40 sec before I can see the content of this folder. Meanwhile, the main pane is completely frozen. I don't have any delay on Chrome (same computer, same connection) - When I want to navigate the history of my google docs (open a google docs > file > history), then it takes between 3 and 5 minutes to load the full history before I can scroll to a version saved a couple of months ago. On Chrome, I still have to wait but "only" about 1 min. This is new, this summer I didn't experience such delays I am not sure but I think it started about 2 weeks ago. But on the plus side: when I load a 50+ pages google docs on Egde Chromium it loads faster than on Chrome.

You can find the Snap Store here. Because I know someone will mention it, yes, you can install the Snap Store Snap package and it will run on a Chromebook. However, it takes forever to launch. It throws all kinds of errors and I have not been able to sign into the Snap Store once it launches which prevents you from actually downloading Snaps with the install button. If you have found a fix or workaround for this, please shoot me an email or drop a comment below. I’d love to get it working. To sum up, I wouldn’t recommend using Snaps on Chrome OS unless it was your only option to install an application. There are a lot of alternatives out there for most apps and until Snaps run smoother on Chrome OS, it’s just more trouble than it’s worth. Either way, it was fun and interesting to finally get this working. See you next time when we explore how to change your default container from Debian to Ubuntu. I'm using next configuration: QNAP TS-210, router WNDR 3700 and Philips 32PFL9705H. Everything has latest upgrades. Technically everything is fine, but I'm able to use like 10% of media server functionality what is totally unacceptable. Router speed is good enough, It's capable of streaming 1080p via wi-fi, and tv has a built-in wi-fi which is also capable of doing that. But twonky media server just doesn't do it's job. Here are my results of using TS-210 as DLNA.1. Pictures viewed on TV via DLNA have very small size, they look like icons, there is no way to resize them or show fullscreen. 2. Viewing pictures using DLNA on PC is annoying. I've tried Windows Media Player (Windows 7). It takes forever for preview of photos to appear. If photos have big size (like 10 - 15 mb) it takes forever to open them and (what's more!) it heavily lowers quality of picture also by adding some visible noise, this is ruining the whole idea of storing high quality photos on NAS with DLNA. I've only used pictures with JPEG format.TV shows same photos from connected flash storage just fine. So if I want to show photos to my friends on big screen then I'd have to copy them to flash first and only after that I'd be able show photos on my tv screen. If I'm using Windows Explorer to browse directory with photos and open them from there, then everything works fine (preview is faster and it takes a just a little to open big size photos). If I close Explorer and come back to directory with photos previews would load quickly. DLNA also has some cache (but it works slower) and it seems that DLNA cache is disappearing over time. Opening of big photos works slow no matter what and
