Lab in KK to be able to browse all those presets from within one place without having to change instrument. That seems like a good way to start to get to know the Collection without focusing on the minutiae which I can delve into later. I highly suspect Arturia choose not to include NKS for Analog Lab since they have their own controller keyboards which integrate with it. Topic: Keystep 37 and CC learning with Arturia synths (Read 4709 times) For those who, like me, may be new to K37, this is how to map K37 CCs to Arturia synths. You have to be in bank mode (shift chord) and obviously in the midi input of the synth.Assume you're in a K37 bank mode (eg. b1)On the Arturia synth, click on The Parameters icon (wheel) next to Advanced.click on the Midi tabclick on LearnCase1: With Analog Lab, Pigment and some other synths, the macro knobs are obvious. In learn mode, you click on the first synth macro, move slightly the first K37 knob, repeat for all macros.Don't forget to save your Midi config.Case 2: With Arturia synths that have macros at the bottom: In learn mode, click on bottom macro (eg. Brightness), the Brightness parameter appears on the control listmove the first K37 knob slightly (change might not show in the control list)repeat for all macrosDon't forget to save your Midi config. With the organs (Vox, B3), the procedure is the same but since organ keyboards are mapped into different channels, you must repeat the procedure for each channel (different K37 banks or different Midi config files).Case 3: In old Stage V piano (Stage V2 has macros), there are no macros, so you have to map the K37 knobs to the most useful parameters.Hope it might be useful for someone. « Last Edit: October 04, 2021, 08:58:40 pm by francoise » Logged Even if I save the K37 Midi Config settings, they get lost somehow at some time. The only possible cause I see may be the interference with another midi controller. I use the Yamaha CP-33 as a midi controller along with the K37 and usually assign the CP-33 volume to the Arturia synth volume knob but it should not wipe out the K37 saved Midi Config. « Last Edit: October 07, 2021, 03:19:17 pm by francoise » Logged When I try to map my macro knobs in Pigments, only 3 and 4 work. 2 is mapped to the mid wheel & I have no idea what 1 is mapped to. All I know is I can’t override these settings. Thanks for your post. Logged Sorry for the late answer, ARNK.I just noticed your answer (nov. 17).On the k37, you press Shift Chord to access a bank (let's say b1).In Pigment, you click the wheel on the upper right corner, the MIDI tab.In the midi config box below, you will be offered a default or generic config.Let's use the empty config to start by scratch. Then you click on the Learn button below the config box.The Pigment controls will be purple (unassigned) or red (assigned to a cc#).You click on the Macro Sound or control live—like the drawbars on a B-3 V or the filter controls of a Matrix-12 V. They’re even mapped automatically to the most logical controls on Arturia KeyLab and MiniLab keyboards, or NI controllers via NKS.But they may be wrong and you right which is why I asked further questions. Thanks for your input either way. Only the individual instruments on V collection are NKS- althou analog lab has some of those individual presets from the instruments it in itself is not NKS, and this is still the case even in V collection 6 which includes analog lab 3 ( and the new instrument including Buchla & DX7 are still not NKS) the specs in v collection 6 is quite clear in that respect.Analog Lab was originally with the minilab controller, so Arturia clearly want you to use their controllers. You can if you use google, find some user Analog Lab NKSF presets done for KK/Maschine.* NKS compatibility currently unavailable for Analog Lab 3, CMI V, Clavinet V, Buchla Easel V and DX7 V. The OrphanagemeetsDist COLDFIRE Los Angeles, USA: Zaire Koalo and Trevor Brown, AKA music production duo The Orphanage, have lent their creative talents to everyone from Lizzo to Kelly Clarkson to Kehlani. But whether they’re working with the A-listers or getting experimental in the box, their workflow brims with curiosity and infectious energy. We spent the day in their Sherman Oaks studio to see where Dist COLDFIRE fits into their free-flowing setup. Zaire Koalo Starting off his musical journey on the saxophone and piano, Zaire discovered the joy of making beats at an early age, and simply never looked back. This multi-instrumental background lends him a musical sensibility and hands-on approach that shines through in all of his projects - you know when it’s a Koalo beat. Trevor Brown Trevor considers himself a self-taught producer out of necessity. He started off playing piano, moving over to drums and playing in bands; he took up producing so he could make his own demos. He was approached by other artists keen to get in on his new-found production skills, and the momentum continued from there. As individuals, Zaire and Trevor each bring different skill sets and creative color to their projects. As a team, The Orphanage is a Grammy Award-winning creative force to be reckoned with. Zaire notes that, besides the amazing artists they’ve worked with and the accolades they’ve collected, one of his favorite things about being a producer is working with good people through a process. Going through the process of creating the music is what I typically love to experience, especially with good people like Trevor, Oak, we have two other people on the team - Keith and Alex - who are amazing. Just going through the process… is something that I love to do. - Zaire Their introduction to Arturia came via the discovery of Jun-6 V. Whenever they needed a retro sound, this modeled analog icon became their go-to. Next came the Jup-8 V, which they rely on for its archetypal brass sounds heard on countless chart-topping records. It was like, ok these plugins are dope. This company is amazing, they’re really capturing the color of what the actual sounds felt like for those keyboards back then. Once I got a hold of those two plugins, I felt like Arturia knows what they’re doing. - Zaire On Dist COLDFIRE As with all Arturia instruments and effects, Dist COLDFIREKeyboard Parts - Arturia - Keylab - Keyboard Kountry
